Mainly: <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"background-details\" style=\"color: #000080;\"><span class=\"lt-line-clamp__raw-line\">Research and standardization related to thermal and solar properties of windows and facades.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"background-details\" style=\"color: #000080;\"><span class=\"lt-line-clamp__raw-line\">Development and implementation of internationally harmonized calculation procedures on the energy performance of buildings.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><span class=\"background-details\" style=\"color: #000080;\"><span class=\"lt-line-clamp__raw-line\">The EPB Center<\/span><\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span class=\"background-details\" style=\"color: #000080;\"><span class=\"lt-line-clamp__line\">In recent years, most of my activities were dedicated to the development of<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-98 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/dickvandijk.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/EPB-center-logo-def-300x249.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"189\" height=\"157\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dickvandijk.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/EPB-center-logo-def-300x249.jpg 300w, https:\/\/dickvandijk.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/EPB-center-logo-def-600x498.jpg 600w, https:\/\/dickvandijk.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/EPB-center-logo-def-768x637.jpg 768w, https:\/\/dickvandijk.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/EPB-center-logo-def-1024x850.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 189px) 100vw, 189px\" \/> the <span class=\"lt-line-clamp__raw-line\">CEN and ISO set of energy performance of buildings standards (in ISO: the so called &#8220;ISO 52000 family&#8221;), using the holistic or systemic approach. To support the European Directive on the energy performance of buildings (EPBD).<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"background-details\" style=\"color: #000080;\"><span class=\"lt-line-clamp__line\"><span class=\"lt-line-clamp__raw-line\">At European (CEN) level) this set was completed and published in 2017.\u00a0 About one third of the set has also been published at global (ISO) level. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"background-details\" style=\"color: #000080;\"><span class=\"lt-line-clamp__line\">The next and obvious step is implementation and application of these calculation procedures in the national building regulations, in allEuropean countries, but also outside Europe. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"background-details\" style=\"color: #000080;\"><span class=\"lt-line-clamp__line\">Regulators and other interested parties (supply industry, consultants, builders, designers, ..) need <span class=\"background-details\">a central organization where <\/span>they can get technical support and where they can provide feedback. Therefore I initiated <span class=\"background-details\">the EPB Center<\/span>, with the help of other key players in the field. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"background-details\" style=\"color: #000080;\"><span class=\"lt-line-clamp__line\">The Center<\/span> <span class=\"lt-line-clamp__line\">is dedicated to provide stakeholders and interested parties with technical support for the<\/span> <span class=\"lt-line-clamp__line\">implementation and dissemination of information on the set of EPB standards at national and<\/span> <span class=\"lt-line-clamp__line\">regional level.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<h4><span class=\"background-details\" style=\"color: #000080;\"><span class=\"lt-line-clamp__raw-line\">Award<\/span><\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">On November 17, 2016, during the symposium at the occasion of my retirement from TNO, I received the NEN-legpenning, the highest available NEN award, from Piet-Hein Daverveldt, NEN managing director.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000080;\">He stressed the importance of the activities for energy savings in buildings in The Netherlands and abroad.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">&#8220;<em>Initially in his carreer, Van Dijk has worked to improve the thermal insulation standards; later he coordinated the development of the national energy performance of buildings standard in The Netherlands. In recent years he initiated the development of the Energy Performance of Building (EPB) Standards within Europe and at global (worldwide) level.
